ADAS recalibration

New windscreen? Your cameras need recalibrating too.

Many modern cars, utes and trucks have a forward-facing camera mounted on the windscreen. It reads lane markings and traffic ahead for safety features like these.
When the windscreen is replaced, that camera has to be recalibrated so it’s looking exactly where the manufacturer intended. We recalibrate cameras and sensors after your new windscreen installation.

Camera aimed correctly

Camera 1° out

A camera aimed 1 degree off points 0.87 metres away from its target 50 metres down the road. 0.87 m 50 m ahead
Why it matters: a camera that’s just 1° out is looking 0.87 m off target 50 m down the road. That’s a quarter of a typical 3.5 m lane.

Fast, friendly and first class service. What a fantastic job. We were travelling through the area when we needed a windscreen chip fixed fast. Would highly recommend. Thanks so much, windscreen fixed and ready to explore!

Getting a stone chip to our windscreen a couple of days into our road trip holiday was not great. What was great though was the help and service we received from Gunnedah Windscreens and Autoglass. They were able to quickly repair the chip…

Common questions

Can’t see your question here? Give us a call.
Can my chip be repaired, or do I need a new windscreen?

It depends on the size and position of the damage. Small chips caught early can often be repaired, which stops them spreading. Long cracks, damage near the edge of the glass, or damage in the driver’s line of sight usually mean a replacement.

Send us a photo through the quote form and we’ll tell you which one you need.

The camera for features like lane keep assist and autonomous emergency braking is mounted on the windscreen. When the glass is replaced, the camera needs to be recalibrated so it’s aimed exactly where the manufacturer intended. Without it, those safety systems may not see the road correctly.

Check behind your rear-view mirror for a camera housing on the windscreen. If your vehicle has lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking or adaptive cruise control, it most likely has one. Not sure? Give us the make, model and year and we’ll check for you.

Yes. As well as cars, utes and 4WDs, we handle glass for prime movers, buses, and fleet and commercial vehicles.
Many comprehensive car insurance policies include glass cover. Get in touch and we’ll talk you through the next steps.
Chip repairs are usually quick. A windscreen replacement takes longer, because the adhesive needs time to cure before the vehicle is safe to drive. We’ll give you a time when booking.
